Casumo Ontario Review 2024 - Is Casumo legal in Ontario?

On the Kambi sportsbook platform, Casumo is now also one of the available legal Ontario betting sites, which also offers casino gameplay from the same account. As a mobile-forward provider, they are a reasonably unique option available in Ontario. In general, we are positive about the Casumo sportsbook and casino offering. However, there is one major caveat with Casumo that must be highlighted before moving ahead with the review, especially for sports bettors:

As part of our review process, we look to deposit funds to then see how fast a given operator will process a withdrawal. When we did this at Casumo, they canceled our withdrawal, because we had not yet played the full amount of our deposit, once over.

Casumo's terms don't specify this explicitly, but they do have nebulous terms and conditions that talk about the level of play needing to match the deposit level before withdrawal will be allowed. This is less than ideal given your options in the Ontario market that will allow for withdrawal at any time. It's your money as a player, even if on their platform. Since you'd need to withdraw funds to the same funding source, there is no real problem of money laundering being addressed by this rule. This is a set of terms that we'd like to see Casumo change, as it is actually a huge problem with respect to the pursuit of responsible gambling measures. 

Imagine a problem gambler has deposited money, then has the strength to stop themselves and request a withdrawal before they have played their full deposit amount. Casumo will cancel that withdrawal and tell that problem gambler to keep gambling, and that they don't have a right to withdraw their funds as per their terms. This is something we hope that the AGCO and iGaming Ontario look to rectify. Now on with the review of the actual Casumo Ontario offering.

Casumo Ontario allows for free casino play without registration

Note one thing about Casumo Ontario if you intend to visit and browse around their casino before you sign up.  They have over 1600 games, many of which you can preview and play for free.  However, in order to preview or browse all the games at Casumo without full registration, find the "Explore Our Casino Games" link in large text. On the downside, Casumo tends to offer odds value that is below our top-rated brands for Ontario. Furthermore, if you intend to bet on markets outside the main game betting markets, Casumo does tend to accept fairly small stakes.  So if you like to find value on less popular markets, you won't likely be able to bet as much as you like as Casumo looks to limit their liability.  If you generally stick to moneylines, totals and handicaps, Casumo is a fine option for purely recreational players that just want to get a bet down alongside their casino play.
