It's a bit of a strange time for online casino gambling in Canada. Ontario now has a fully legal market. This is why we currently see so many more ads on TV for sportsbook & casino brands. Before Ontario opened its legal market, we always had the 'dot-net' free play brand ads on TV, but now we have those, plus all the new ones meant for Ontario, that end up leaking into households across the country. This might leave you in a confusing spot if you live in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Quebec, the Atlantic Provinces or the Territories.
Know that you can only play at the legal Ontario versions of these casino brands if you are physically located in Ontario. However, almost all of the top online & live dealer casino brands that we list for Ontario also serve the rest of Canada from their so-called "offshore" gaming jurisdictions. Some of the heavily advertised brands in Ontario like FanDuel, DraftKings, BetRivers, theScore Bet and PointsBet do not serve the rest of Canada from offshore.
We understand. It's confusing, but we know the top companies & casino brands that serve both the legal Ontario market, and the rest of Canada from their "offshore" sites as operated from Malta, Gibraltar or Kahnawake (in Quebec). When people ask: "which online casinos accept Interac?" - we know the answer to that too. All the casino brands listed on this page accept Interac.
The last idea that we'll leave you with before we get into things is that most of the top online casinos for Canada are under brands that sound like sports betting is their main service, with "bet" or "sports" in their name. If you couldn't care less about sports but want top tier casino action, just come to grips with the fact that the best online gaming platforms come to you from these kinds of brands. We explain this more below, if interested to learn why, but otherwise, if you have no interest in betting, just look past the sporty name. You will find the top slots, casino & live dealer experiences with the brands we highlight.

Betway is also in the top tier of online and live casinos for people across the country. If you're not a sports fan, given their name, they might not be at the top of your list. But rest assured, they actually have one of the best live casino offerings available, with a nearly endless array of options. You'll find multiple variations of each important game like Blackjack, Roulette and Baccarat, but you'll also find lots of live game shows. Interact with the live dealers and fellow players in the chat within so many games from top studios, Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play and Playtech.
When it comes to RNG-based games, Betway has a huge number of slots for you, but they also have several "Real" casino games. These games use recorded footage of a real person running your game, as linked to Random Number Generation game results. It's a nice middle-ground between "live dealer" games and those pure RNG casino table games that use computer graphics. With "Real" games, you are not really playing with other people, it just looks like a real person is dealing your cards.
The Betway casino drawbacks? No free play demo of the RNG and slots games. Several of our top providers allow for free play with no sign up, others allow free play after sign up. Also, we like to see the minimum and maximum bets listed on the live casino game tiles, so you know what you are getting into before entering the respective live casino game. These are small things however, Betway has an incredible casino platform to go along with their top tier sportsbook.

Casumo is an excellent online casino option for players across Canada, no matter your gaming preferences. They have essentially every kind of game you could hope for including a huge array of slots, jackpots, live game shows, and table games that are both available with live dealers, or the random number generator variety. Like all the brands we recommend for players across Canada, they are licensed in the legal Ontario market, though players in the rest of the country will play via their platform based in Malta.
Once you've deposited and played with Casumo, you'll be happy to experience what are some of the fastest Interac e-transfer withdrawals we've ever tested. If you like to place a sports bet periodically, Casumo also provides a solid sportsbook platform, though really serious sports bettors might look at our Canadian sports betting reviews to learn about the providers that place more of a focus on this specialized type of gaming. Beyond Ontario, know that Casumo is licensed in the UK, Ireland and Sweden - they're a solid operator that you can trust, with top-level gaming.

Again, if you are not a sports fan, but you are looking for top casino action, it might be tough to get past the name here. But as we've explained above, the sportsbook gaming vertical goes hand-in-hand with the casino and live dealer casino verticals. It is actually better for you, even if not a sports fan, to choose a provider with a sportsbook as part of their offering. Sports betting tends to be a more regulated product, even "offshore". Given its popularity, serious gaming companies invest to offer it to all their players, even though it is a low-margin and often a money-losing part of the gaming business.
Sports Interaction, or SIA, is a brand that is actually rooted in Canadian gaming, based in sovereign territory of the Mohawks of Kahnawake, southwest of Montreal. They have been serving Canadians online since the late-nineties. They have always officially been a "grey market" or "offshore" brand and jurisdiction, even though they are right here in Canada (though now legal in Ontario now as well).
With SIA, you get an incredible array of slots games, which include branded or licensed games like AMC's "The Walking Dead" or those from other studios. All their slots games come with full RTP and variance stats so you can see the kind of game you are playing, before you play it. SIA also has a solid live dealer casino with all the major games you would expect to see, plus live game shows, Andar Bahar, 3 Card Brag and more. Even though SIA has now been acquired by a huge international gaming company, their continued connection to Canadian First Nations makes them an important casino option to consider.

JackpotCity Casino is perhaps the most well-known brand for players across Canada, as regulated from the Kahnawake First Nations gaming jurisdiction in Quebec. (They are also now legal in Ontario.) As an online slots and casino brand, they have everything you might want. The name says it all, so you need not be confused by a sports-first kind of name - you know what they are all about. Beyond this, they are owned by a top iGaming company, Super Group, which also owns and operates the "Betway" brand we list above, our top recommendation. They both have essentially the same casino gaming platforms. So why do we have JackpotCity Casino rated lower than you might expect for online casinos with huge brand recognition across the country?
The answer is fairly simple. JackpotCity Casino is indeed one of the top options for players across Canada, because they have a huge array of online slots and RNG-based table games, including so-called "real dealer" blackjack and roulette games that involve recorded video which is integrated into a Random Number Generator-based games. They also have excellent live-dealer options.
However, they are a pure online casino, there is no sportsbook, so if you expect access to sports betting from the same account, again, look at the brands above, as they all offer sports wagering as well. This could be a positive point if you prefer that sports betting need not be a part of your platform. Furthermore, know that you will be able to play essentially any non-live dealer game for free in "demo mode" at JackpotCity, so you can test any game at no cost, before playing for real money. This is a real positive point, as not all brands have pre-registration or post-registration free-play options.

Betsafe is one of the main brands for Swedish iGaming giant, Betsson AB. It's their main brand targeted for players in Canada, as you will find a fully "Canadian version" of Betsafe. As a multiple award-winning operator from their gaming jurisdiction in Malta, Betsson AB is the kind of reputable operator at which you want to play. They are interested in being a sustainable operator that institutes responsible gaming tools for all its players, not just for those in locally regulated jurisdictions like Sweden or Ontario, where they also operate with their Betsafe brand.
When it comes to their casino offering for players across Canada, we've seen few that do it better than Betsafe. They have an incredibly elegant and intuitive interface, no matter your preferred device. Find your preferred games super quick via their search utility, or browse games in super simple fashion, as all their games are really well-categorized. Of course, they make a distinction between "casino" and "live casino" as most do, but they provide categories for: Canadian Favourites, New Games, Trend Games, Christmas Games (in-season), Exclusive Games (to Betsafe), Jackpots, Buy Bonus, Drop and Wins, Table Games, plus links to games from publishers Pragmatic Play and Megaways.
If you are big into Live Dealer casino games, Betsafe Canada has an incredible array of options from leading live casino studios Pragmatic Play and Playtech. This means you get a multitude of options for live dealer blackjack, roulette, baccarat and loads of live game shows. Chat live as you play with the dealers and other players for a truly social experience. The live dealer games and variations are seemingly endless and include options in other languages. Each game tile clearly states the minimum and maximum available bet, so you know exactly what you are getting into before you enter any game. Furthermore, you can try almost any of their online slots games or RNG casino games for FREE, before you even sign up. Simply visit and find the "Practice Play" button on each game tile. (Not all online casino companies allow free play.)
This is what an online and live dealer casino should look like. Betsafe Canada, for players outside Ontario is an incredible option. Plus, you get access to their top tier sportsbook platform from the same account if it suits you. To get you started, SNBET has a highly exclusive new customer offer that is 3X the value of their normal one.

Betsson is actually the main betting and casino brand for Swedish online gambling company, Betsson AB. For the Canadian market, Betsson AB actually uses their Betsafe brand, which is our number one recommendation above. That's the brand that has moved to be licensed in the legal Ontario market, which uses what might be considered as typical "Canadian" preferences. Betsson.com, is their main brand for Europe and South America, which does not have an explicit focus on Canada, but it still has essentially the same amazing sportsbook platform, and the same selection of live dealer games, jackpots, slots and RNG-based table games, from a very similar super-intuitive interface.
For casino players, Betsson.com offers everything a player could want, in the same way that Betsafe offers it, just not specifically targeted to a Canadian audience. At Betsson, players across Canada get access to a full range of live dealer casino games. This is important note because some betting and casino brands use live dealer game suppliers that actually will not serve the "rest of Canada" marketplace. Not so with Betsson, so you get access to all their games. Plus, their Live Casino interface, like Betsafe, is amazing, with huge game tiles that really let you see the games before you tap or click to enter.
When it comes to jackpots, slots or regular online casino games (not live dealer ones), Betsson allows for "Practice Play", so you can play for free without even having to register. This is a big plus point for those that really want to try things out to make sure there are games you will enjoy before you make the decision to deposit real money.
Furthermore, since Betsson is known for its approach to responsible gambling, you get access to all their RG tools, so you can set your deposit and play limits, to help control your spending. With Canadian Dollar accounts and banking methods, Betsson remains an amazing option. If you want access to an online casino for Canada, and also want access to sports betting that has an international flavour that leans toward soccer content, Betsson is a great option for you.

bet365 has one of the best online casinos in the world. If you have not heard about the bet365 brand, we'd be really surprised, given they are the biggest single online gambling brand on the planet. They have over 80 million account holders worldwide. They are the biggest gambling brand in Canada too, whether in the legal Ontario market, or from their Gibraltar-based site serving the rest of Canada. This is what happens when you have an incredible betting and gaming platform since the year 2000, with a motivation to provide the most mobile-friendly gaming experience in the world.
Now, no matter your device, you get an incredible experience, including exclusive slots games from Blueprint & Megaways. Unfortunately, bet365 does not really have live dealer casino games anymore for the "rest of Canada", as their main provider, Evolution Gaming, now works essentially exclusively with the various lottery-owned providers across Canada, and within the regulated, legal Ontario market for their games. This is why we do not have bet365 higher up in our ranking for Canada (outside Ontario) - the lack of live dealer games. However, if you love RNG casino games or slots, they are a great complement to your sports betting, as bet365 is a provider trusted by tens of millions - an incredible gaming platform for Canadians which always offers the fastest payouts.

BetVictor is a sportsbook and casino brand that began in the UK. As a company, they began as a bookmaker known as Victor Chandler in 1946, but they have made the full online transition and now have one of the top available platforms. With an international following from their English Premier League club partnerships, they are biggest in the UK, Ireland, but also Canada (and now legal in Ontario).
If you also like sports betting, you know you'll have a great sportsbook with excellent coverage of both North American sports, plus the best of soccer betting. If you don't care at all about sports betting, they have an excellent live casino offering, along with a solid array of slots and table games. Overall, BetVictor is a great choice for those players that do actually want both a solid casino experience to along with their sports betting. If you are a pure and hardcore casino player, and you just want endless slots games, we might have some other options more to your liking, like our next option.

When it comes to jurisdictions that have not fully regulated online gaming in their local market, like Canada outside Ontario, the landscape for online casinos is a little like the Wild West. In Canada, outside Ontario, you can play at just about any "offshore" online casino today. That's not really a good thing, as it is super-easy to set up a shady or scammy online casino. Sports betting on the other hand tends to be a lot harder to set up, since it involves dealing with real-time events for wagering, not simply RNG-based games and software. Thus, the barrier to entry to online sports betting for an operator, tends to be much, much higher. It also tends to involve a higher bar of regulation.
This rule of thumb is not perfect, as there are shady sportsbook brands too, but there are way more shady casino-only sites. Thus, the bottom line is; if you can find great online sportsbook operators, you know they will also have great online and live casino action. They've done the hard bit to draw in sports fans as customers, even though sports betting is a low-margin business. So even if you could not care less about sports and sports betting, and just want a great casino or slots experience, understand why you might want to consider playing your casino games at a brand that seems oriented toward "sports" or "betting". You'll never need to see anything about sports once you're on their platforms, but you will get access to the best casino games from top tier, trustworthy operators that are positioned outwardly as "Canadian betting sites".
From outside Ontario, you actually get full access to all their available games. Since Ontario has its own game supplier testing & licensing regime, all games on legal Ontario online casinos have to have their Ontario license. If a given game publisher does not want to go through the process of getting a local license, their games won't be used on the Ontario casino sites.
Ontario online casinos actually get less slots and games, because of this. So when you play at the brands we show from outside Ontario, you actually get the fully fledged versions of their offering, with all their available games, not just those with Ontario supplier licenses. Even on the "offshore" site versions, games are regularly tested for fairness, just not necessarily by the regime in Ontario.
When it comes to payment methods between the two sets of markets, Ontario and the "Rest of Canada", there is very little difference. First, all the brands we list offer CAD accounts. If you are outside Ontario, don't take this as a given. You could otherwise be subjected to 3% to 5% hidden currency exchange fees if playing in another currency. Ensure you play in Canadian Dollars directly.
Beyond this, all Ontario and "Rest of Canada" online casinos we recommend accept Interac, and Visa and Mastercard credit or debit card payments. Note that credit card payments across Canada to all gaming sites, even government-owned ones, are treated as cash advances. This means 20%+ interest from the moment of your deposit, plus a flat fee from your card company, even if you always pay your balance on-time. So use debit, e-transfers or prepaid methods whenever you can to avoid these high fees. Essentially all our recommended brands are also debit card casino sites for Canada.
Other available methods in both market geographies may include Apple Pay, Instadebit, iDebit, MuchBetter, EcoPayz and various bank debit methods. Prepaid options like paysafecard may also be available. In the end, the available payment method mix is decided upon by the operator.
The one big difference between Ontario and "Rest of Canada" casino sites with regard to payment methods is PayPal. PayPal can only be used for gambling-related payments in markets where the activity of gambling is fully legal for both the operator and the player. Thus, PayPal is available in Ontario, and has been added to the mix by some operators there. PayPal however is not available for use with "offshore" casino operators from the "Rest of Canada" since this is "grey market", neither legal, nor illegal. You will note that many scammy "online casino review" resources lie about this, and we talk about why and how they do this on our page about avoiding scams.
There are actually several methods with regard to Interac and casino payments in Canada. The most used are of course Interac e-transfers. If you bank with essentially any Canadian bank or credit union, you can use this method. To pay in, you will simply click or tap to "Deposit" when logged into your casino site of choice. Select Interac e-transfer, then enter the amount you intend to pay in. Then, your casino site will show you the email address to which you should send your e-transfer in the matching amount. They will also show you a serial number or code to enter in the notes area of your e-transfer. You enter this code to ensure that your e-transfer gets properly attributed to your account. Once sent, the funds should land in your casino account within seconds, as the system is fully automated to receive payments. Super simple.
A second Interac payment method is to "confirm a withdrawal request". With this, once you indicate the amount to deposit within the cashier page, the casino will prompt you to login to your bank of choice, where you will be asked to confirm your payment. This Interac payment type is even faster, than an etransfer, plus it leaves less room for error, since you don't have to paste the confirmation code anywhere, which some people can forget to do when using the e-transfer method.
If you bank with RBC or TD, you may have access to a third Interac casino payment method: "Interac Online". With Interac Online, when you make a deposit, you get to do everything as part of your online web session, as the casino site will prompt a new window where you can login to your TD or RBC account and confirm the payment. Again though, Interac Online is only available at this time for TD and RBC customers, and furthermore, not every casino site will offer this option. E-transfers will be your most available option.
This varies from provider to provider. Some casino sites like bet365 have Interac e-transfer limits as high as $10,000 per transaction. However, other brands may have more typical limits for Interac in the region of $3,000 per transaction. Instadebit can facilitate payments debited from your bank account as high as $20,000 per transaction. If you have a Visa or Mastercard debit card, these transactions can get as high as $50,000 or even $80,000 per transaction. Correspondingly, Apple Pay can facilitate this level of transaction with your debit cards as well. See our list of Apple Pay casino sites for Canada as not all operators accept it.
Credit card transactions can also reach these levels, but as we've stated elsewhere, credit card transactions to online casinos are treated as "cash advances" in Canada, not purchases. This is the case if used directly, or via Apple Pay or other mobile wallet. This means that interest begins to accrue from the moment of the deposit at whatever cash advance interest rate you have in your card agreement. Plus, the card issuer will charge a flat fee near $5. If you can, try to avoid using your credit card for Canadian casino payments. They are convenient, but super expensive to use.
For the most part, $10 tends to be the minimum deposit amount across payment methods, including Interac. Some sites may require $20 as the minimum.
Generally, no. There are no casino fees to deposit or withdraw from our recommended brands for Canada. Note that your banking provider may charge for your Interac deposits, depending on your banking plan. Any e-wallet or pre-paid solution will charge for facilitating payments in one way or another. These charges will be outlined on those respective platforms. Interac is usually the cheapest option as many banking plans charge a dollar per outbound payment. Some banking plans include at least some free Interac e-transfers or Interac Online payments per month, so refer to your plan in this respect.
All but one of our listed online casino brands for the "Rest of Canada", outside Ontario, offer a wide array of live dealer games. Perhaps surprisingly, bet365 only offers regular online casino & slots games based in Random Number Generation or RNG within the "rest of Canada" market. This is down to the live dealer game supplier that they use, which now basically only serves regulated Canadian operators, which includes the provincial lottery companies. Thus if you are in the mood for live dealer casino games, be it Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, their variations, or other games like Andar Bahar, Sic Bo, 3 Card Brag or live game shows, have a look at our mini-reviews for (in our ranked order) Betway, Casumo, Sports Interaction, JackpotCity, Betsafe, ComeOn!, Betsson and BetVictor.
Not every top casino site for players outside Ontario allows for free play of its games. In general, live dealer games are never available to play for free. However, if you'd like to be able to try slots games or various kinds of RNG-based casino games like Blackjack, Roulette or others without risking real money, several of our brands allow you to do this. If you want to try games for free without even having to register, our listed brands of Betsafe and Betsson allow you to do this. Click the previous links to navigate directly to our respective mini-reviews which outline how to access the games for free at each given brand. If you don't mind registering first before you play your games for free, you may do so at JackpotCity and then look for "demo mode".
When you see a casino bonus for 100% up to $1,000, this means that if you make a deposit, the casino site will match your deposit at a rate of 100% up to this $1,000 maximum. However, to actually keep any money that you win as connected to your bonus amount, you will need to follow through with the prescribed wagering requirements. This could be 30 times (30X) up to 70 times (70X) your bonus, or your bonus-plus-deposit.
The wagering requirements differ by game type. This is important to consider as many casino players may only be interested in one kind of game, beyond slots, or may prefer a mix of games. If you are a slots player, know that your slots wagers will likely be applied to the wagering requirements at a one for one rate, in other words a 100% rate. Wager a dollar, and that dollar will be counted fully toward your prescribed wagering requirement.
However, if you like playing live casino games, table games, blackjack or wheel games, your wagers on these games will likely not apply toward your wagering requirements at the same dollar for dollar rate compared to slots games. Wagers made for these other games may only apply to your wagering requirements at a 10% rate. For example, when you make a one-dollar wager in a qualifying Blackjack game, and the applicable wagering requirement rate for this game in your bonus terms is 10%, it means that 10 cents will be applied against your wagering requirement.
Understand this variation in how wagering requirements are treated by game type. Some bonuses may not even be applicable for live casino games, poker games or certain kinds of baccarat - so you may want to have a quick read of the bonus terms and conditions to be sure you will be getting good value for the kinds of games you want to play.
Ideally, if your games of interest lie beyond slots, you should hope to see the applicable bonus rate for other games between 10% to 20%. Some may be below 10%, or even near zero. Then of course there may be bonuses that are purely dedicated to live casino games. When this is the case, there is no need for this sort of step-down rate, as the entire bonus itself is fully geared toward live casino games, which will likely include Blackjack, Roulette and the like. (Live casino bonuses are dedicated offers, and do not apply to slots for example.)
Note that both the wagering requirement and the time given to you to complete them can vary widely. Think about how you intend to play and how these factors might relate to that. Will you play enough, and in time to actually achieve your bonus of interest? Also take into account game-weighted rates we highlight so you may see how playing your preferred games may or may not satisfy the wagering requirements.
Note that we use the main rates for the listed game types in order to give you a general idea in this respect, but there may be some versions of Roulette, Blackjack or live dealer games that have higher or lower game-weighted rates than shown here. See the respective full offer terms for precise information. (Table correct as of 12/21/22. Details may have changed.)
