The Indianapolis Colts of the NFL have come to a partnership agreement with Caesars Entertainment to be the football club's official sportsbook and casino partner. Caesars Entertainment is in the gaming business in the state of Indiana in both the online and bricks and mortar spheres. The partnership covers both of these areas and expands upon the existing Colts-Caesars partnerships with Harrah's Hoosier Park Racing & Casino and Indiana Grand Racing & Casino.
As part of the multi-year agreement, Caesars receives:
♦ Naming rights for Lucas Oil Stadium's South Gate, now becoming Caesars South Gate.
♦ The opening of a Caesars Sportsbook Lounge at the former Blue Room at Lucas Oil Stadium, an entertainment space open to fans 21 and older. Live odds will be displayed on LED screens and Caesars ambassadors will be available to help fans download the Caesars Sportsbook App and place bets.
♦ Caesars Sportsbook's sponsorship of the free-to-play "Pick 6" predictor game on the Colts Mobile App. The Pick 6 Predictor generates a series of six questions about an upcoming game, and fans have the chance to predict the outcome. Correct picks are rewarded with weekly prizes, and all participants are entered into a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas to stay at a Caesars Entertainment resort.
This partnership will be key to Caesars' strategy for adoption of its mobile sports betting app in the state of Indiana. Leading online sportsbook brands by market share, FanDuel and DraftKings are also live in the Hoosier State, and it can be argued that they have superior brand recognition in the online realm. Thus, this marketing partnership will be key in driving home the Caesars brand and the benefits of Caesars Rewards to potential Indiana customers when Colts fans are in stadium or watching at home.
For Caesars, ideally those Colts fans simply download the app based on the sponsorship. However, many fans will be looking to research the betting apps while at home, or may look for online betting bonuses before they get started with any operator. Seeing the Caesars brand at Lucas Oil Stadium will help to prime Indiana sports bettors for the moment they are looking to become an online sportsbook customer.
While most online sportsbooks essentially offer the same product, since Caesars actually has proper bricks and mortar casino locations in Indiana, their exclusive Caesars Rewards program is a truly unique bridge for sports betting and casino fans that enjoy both online and real-world gaming experiences. No other online sportsbook offers a rewards program in Indiana the way that Caesars can in this way. This sentiment was underscored by Colts chief sales & marketing officer, Roger VanDerSnick:
"We've been a proud partner with Caesars properties in Indiana for some time now, but this new partnership expands our ability to offer Colts fans a truly unique experience, whether at Lucas Oil Stadium or watching from home on gameday."
While Caesars is already an official NFL betting partner, with this partnership, Caesars is very serious about becoming the market leader in Indiana gaming.
