Trustly Betting Sites & Online Casinos in Ontario 2025

Trustly is an online banking payment solution that is well-known in Europe, but has more recently moved to support payments within regulated North American sports betting and casino markets like Ontario.  If you are well-familiar with the Trustly service and just want to find the operator brands that support it, we have the best two brands for you below, our #3 and #4 Ontario sportsbooks, Sports Interaction & BetRivers. Note that in Canada, the Trustly solution can be called "PayWithMyBank" or simply "Online Banking". So if you see either of these listed in the given cashier page, that's actually Trustly. If you want to learn a little more about how Trustly works at supporting Ontario online gaming brands, we outline that below.

Trustly online banking payments to legal Ontario sportsbooks & casinos & how they work

Trustly is a digital payment method that allows you to make or receive payments by signing in to your bank without leaving the merchant site (in this case, the betting or casino site).  Trustly can be the name behind your gambling site's "Online Banking" or "Paywithmybank" payment method as listed in their cashier page.

Much like some of the Interac payment interfaces, with Trustly, you are simply prompted to indicate the amount of money you would like to deposit, and the name of your bank or credit union.  Once you have selected your financial institution, you will see a prompt to log in to that institution with your online banking credentials. Once logged in, you will simply confirm the payment.

With Trustly's online banking service, the connection is encrypted and your identity is verified by your bank's strong Multi-Factor Authentication.  Your banking credentials won't be seen by the merchant betting site, and your bank data won't be shared or used without your consent.

Are there fees to use Trustly?

Generally speaking, if you look to make an online gambling payment in Ontario via Trustly's online banking service, you won't be charged a fee by the gambling site, or by Trustly itself.  Generally, for most successful deposit transactions, Trustly charges the betting site to facilitate these quick and secure payments. However, your bank may or may not charge fees for interacting with a service like Trustly.  Usually this fee is little more than a dollar per transaction, but you may wish to contact your bank to check on the level of these fees if you have concerns.

However, note that when you use Trustly to make a payment, your money is not actually leaving your account in real-time. While the money will show up at your online casino or betting site account instantly, your actually money will not be taken from your bank account for two or three days.  This lag time could potentially lead to a situation where there are insufficient funds in your account once these two to three days lapse, if you clear your account of funds in the interim.  If Trustly finds that you have insufficient funds (NSF) at the moment they actually move to take the funds, they will charge you about $25 as their NSF fee. (You will also of course need to repay the amount that they credited to your betting account.)

This is a difference between using Interac and Trustly online banking.  When you send an Interac e-transfer or approve an Interac payment to your chosen betting or casino site, your money leaves your bank account in real-time, so there is no opportunity for these sorts of lag-time-created NSF penalties.  If you like Trustly as a payment method, just be aware of this little quirk and leave time for your payment to properly clear your account.  Don't look to immediately clean out your account on another transaction in the day or so after your Trustly payment.  If you do need to make more payments from your bank account, be sure you leave enough money to cover yourself when Trustly actually comes for the funds from your transaction with them.

Is Trustly available at betting or casino sites for the "rest of Canada", outside Ontario?

Trustly itself as a payments facilitator does not seem to serve Canada's "grey market" of online gambling.  It does not look to link players in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec or the Atlantic provinces to their local bank accounts for the purposes of "grey market" online gambling payments. For people in Canada, outside Ontario, that want to make fast, cheap and secure online bank payments or transfers to their "offshore" betting accounts, the best options remain Interac, Instadebit and iDebit.
