Delta Bingo gains Ontario iGaming license

Delta Bingo & Gaming has received their Ontario iGaming license for use with their web domain deltabingo-dot-com.  Currently, their website at this domain merely outlines information with regard to their bingo hall locations, along with links for careers, contact details, news, and charity involvement.  The latter of these indicates that they have raised over $180 million for over 900 local charities.

Delta Bingo & Gaming runs 20 bingo hall locations, most of which are located across Ontario, but some of which are located in Maryland, USA.  In Ontario, in addition to live bingo games at these locations, the company also provides, bars, food service and "Vegas Style" gaming machines.  These are essentially slot machines that boast various levels of progressive jackpots.

With this news and a substantial number of existing customers served across the province, it appears as though Delta Bingo looks ready to capitalize on their foot traffic in order to build an iGaming offering to complement their bricks-and-mortar efforts.  While there is no news on what iGaming verticals they hope to offer, first and foremost, they will certainly look to create one of their own legal Ontario online casinos with an emphasis on slots.  They know that their existing customers already enjoy slots games, so we would expect their web offering to have this focus.  We would not necessarily expect them to link up with a live casino studio like Pragmatic Play or Evolution Gaming, given their existing demographic, which is clearly interested in two types of gaming: slots & bingo. 

Beyond slots, it is certainly possible to offer online bingo games on their web platform if they wish to do so.  However, in order to succeed, they will need a certain number of players to always be playing online in order for their bingo games to be viable.  There is a question over how they will look to implement this. Can they launch both slots and bingo verticals simultaneously and have enough bingo players online in order to be viable from the outset?

The best strategy for their online launch may be to establish their web presence to their existing customers through online casino & slots first.  Once they have sufficiently established their online presence with their existing customer base and those beyond, they can look to introduce live online bingo games where real people are playing together.
