Kaizen Group, which operates two brands in various regulated national markets has decided that it wants to operate in the relatively crowded regulated & legal Ontario sports betting and online casino market, as it has been granted a license by the AGCO for its "Betano" brand to become one of several legal Ontario betting sites. The Betano.ca license is the 21st one granted to a potential online sportsbook in the province.
The company has never operated in Canada from the so-called 'grey market', from a jurisdiction in Malta, Kahnawake or Gibraltar. So it has no existing Ontario customers to port over into their legal offering. This is thus a similar situation, as shared with several US brands that are coming to the Ontario market with a completely clean slate.
Kaizen Gaming operates its Betano brand in markets such as Portugal, Germany, Peru, Chile, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania and Brazil. It operates its Stoiximan brand in the regulated market of Greece. Kaizen has established numerous marketing partnerships with several major football clubs in these countries including, Sporting Club (Lisbon), FC Porto and SL Benfica in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, Clube Atlético Mineiro and Fluminense in the Brazil Serie A, and Olympiacos FC, Panathinaikos FC and PAOK FC in Super League Greece, among others.
